A great and interesting evening yesterday in Barcelona. Engaging speakers, an attentive audience and a lot of networking during the cocktail with partyStrands demo in the background. N91 Picture 2.jpgAfter a summer break it’s time to announce the next Mobile Monday Barcelona event. We have received some great encouragements and interest from the mobile industry. The next topic is set to “The Future of Mobile Music” and will take place on Monday, October 2, 2006 at the Auditorium of the University of Pompeu Fabra in the Estació de França.

The event is free of charge; you only need to subscribe to reserve your seat. People who previously registered have received an invitation to confirm their presence for this event. Every person who would like to attend should register. We have 150 seats available, our opening event booked out 2 weeks beforehand. So don’t hesitate a moment, you can subscribe/confirm here.

We invited some of the most experienced people in the Mobile Music area to bring you an interesting mix of experience and future visions on this topic.

Scott Cohen - co-founder and VicePresident, The Orchard (UK) leading distributor of independent music in the world, representing over 3.500 labels from 73 countries and more than 1 million songs in catalogue. Artist manager and a recognized expert in new media, Scott has done consulting for different governments, mobile phone operators, and record companies on such topics as developing new business models using the Internet and the creation of new platforms for delivering content.

Bill Houghton - MyStrands (Spain/USA), a leader and innovator in new consumer products and consumer-based business strategies for the Internet. MyStrands develops social recommendation and discovery technologies to help people discover and organize digital content, and share tastes with others, through Internet connected devices. MyStrands is providing the mobile industry with new ways to build mobile communities around music, and develops the technology to offer personalized mobile radios (and video content) to mobile users.

Nandi Gurprasad - VP Global Alliances, Bango Ltd. (UK) Bango operates in the mobile internet where internet connectivity converges with mobile phones. MoMoBcn Opening

Here some pictures of the opening event, needles to say it was a great evening. An interesting topic, good quality speakers and presentations, mixed crowd of mobile value chain players, startups and advertising agencies and the gava was refreshing at the cocktail.
